TAILORING & EMBROIDERY

Tailoring, embroidery, and similar skills hold great significance, especially for empowering individuals from underprivileged backgrounds. Here’s why training in these areas is important:

1. Employment and Livelihood: These skills open doors to employment in garment factories, boutiques, or tailoring units. Many also use these skills for freelance or home-based work.

2. Self-Reliance and Entrepreneurship: With basic tools and training, individuals—especially women—can start their own tailoring or embroidery business, offering services within their communities.

3. Low-Cost Skill Development: Tailoring and embroidery training is relatively inexpensive to learn and teach, yet it provides lifelong income-generating potential.

4. Flexible Work Opportunities: These skills allow people to work from home or take up part-time work, making it especially suitable for women and those with family responsibilities.

5. Scalability: With additional training in fashion design or business management, these skills can evolve into full-fledged enterprises, even leading to brand creation and online sales.

Crochet & Knitting:

• Income generation: Women and rural artisans can sell handmade goods for a sustainable income. Crocheted edges of Scarves of Sarees always remain in fashion. Boutiques are always on the lookout for women and girls who can crochet.

• Handmade items carry thought and love.

• Heirloom pieces like baby blankets or wedding shawls often hold sentimental value.
